Pier and Beam Foundation
A foundation type utilising concrete piers and steel or wood framing resulting in a crawl space under the house.  This type of foundation is useful for expansive soils that might cause a concrete slab to move excessively.  It is also the traditional foundation type found in Austin's older neighborhoods.
